[04/21/06] Will FAS 500 Asset Accounting (formerly FAS Asset Accounting for SQL Server) work with the newest version of Microsoft® SQL Server 2005?
No, not at this time. The product development team at Sage Software is currently working on this issue. They plan to have something out within the next four to six months. So for now, please continue to utilize the FAS 500 Asset Accounting version with SQL Server 2000.
[04/19/06] Are the Sage FAS solutions sold as concurrent users?
No, the Sage FAS products are sold as "licensed users" only. If you need a multi-user system, please contact us at 541-221-3450 for pricing information.
Can
the Sage FAS system classify assets by user-designated groups, with
subtotaling and totaling capability of an overall value?
Yes,
with the use of the Group Manager in Sage FAS along with the built-in
Report Writer.
Will
Sage FAS 100 Asset Accounting adjust the asset cost and automatically adjust
the appropriate General Ledger account?
Can
the Sage FAS system maintain construction/modification in progress
and allow for capitalization under Federal Accounting Standards
Board (FASB) 33, 62, and 84, i.e., transfer from Sage FAS 100 Construction
in Progress Accounting to Fixed Assets?
The Sage FAS 100/500 CIP Accounting module does allow you to maintain and modify capitalization
of your fixed assets before they become fixed assets. Once
your asset does become a full fledge fixed asset, you can
transfer that information seamlessly over into Sage FAS 100/500 Asset Accounting
without any additional data entry.
Does
Sage FAS allow for bar code scanning capabilities?
Are
the Sage FAS 100/500 Asset Accounting systems capable of producing reports
that use data from both current and historical data fields for
all subsystems?
With
the addition of the built-in Crystal Report Writer, you have
the capability of producing endless reports for your fixed
asset management needs. With the purchase of Sage FAS 500 Asset Accounting, the built-in Report Writer is included. Otherwise,
you can order FAS 100 Asset Accounting with (or without) the Report Writer
add-on.
Does
FAS 100 or 500 Asset Accounting have the ability to allocate depreciation
for assets that have more than one location?
Currently,
only the FAS 100/500 Gov and FAS 100/500
Nonprofit versions have asset allocation capability. However,we are hoping that this function will be coming out in a new version release soon.
